Now that you have ALL the stealing abilities you can get, its time to get
those great items you have been working hard for. I will only list out
missions with IMPORTANT items to steal, as most of the other items can be
bought from shops or gotten from treasure hunts and linking. The list is

FFTA : How To Get Steal Weapon Ability Early!

HOW TO GET STEAL WEAPON ABILITY EARLY!

Firstly, to use this method you have to be quite early in the game(before
Main mission 9, magic wood). I would not recommend this method too early in
the game as there will not be enough quests for you to raise your clan
negiotiate skill quick enough. In order to get some of the rare items, you
need to hold off some missions before getting steal weapon ability. Finally,
you are trying to get steal weapon ability, NOT sword breaker!

Steps
-----

1. Sign up for the following Missions(pay fee), but DO NOT do them until
you get steal weapon ability!!!

a. Frosty Mage
b. Nubswood base
c. Magic Wood(main quest 9)

2. You need to get the steal weapon ability from the thief in the wanted!
quest(Diaghilev Godeye, quest no. 27). The quest will appear after you
have done Thesis Hunt main quest. Sign up for the mission(pay fee), but
don't do it until you get Cinqueda(For steal ability). There is an
alternative location where you can get steal weapon ability. See section
4. RARE/HIDDEN ITEMS LOCATION.

3. After you completed the main mission 8(Hot Awakening), it time to do
SOME clan level up! Go to the pub and do ALL the dispatch/battle
missions you can do. Then REPEAT the following quests in order to raise
your clan skills(most importantly negiotiate skill):

a. Swords in cyril
b. Metal Hunt
c. Chocobo help
d. Materite
e. Missions with flags icons...
f. Other Possible missions...

You are repeating the missions in order to reach clan negiotiate skill
30, so that you can get Cinqueda. It will take a quite while(I did it in
26+ hours of game time). So at the same time you can level up your
characters and learn the abilities and unlock the jobs that you want to
get(assassin, ninja, illusionist..etc..). Rememeber at the same time to
learn ALL the steal abilities.

From Andrew Pellerano:

"There is a much easier way to reach negotiation level 30 at the beginning
of the game.

1. Do just the first couple of major quests so that you can activate the
clan command and random battles.

2. Immediately ditch your second human in the party (he?s the most useless
early game) so that you have 5 members total in your clan.

3. Get into a random battle and flee as soon as you can. When you check
the missions list at the pub, you?ll notice a (tribe) Wanted mission
posted by Montblanc where (tribe) is the race aligned with the current
month.

4. Send someone out on this dispatch mission (they take 5 days) and when
they return you?ll gain experience towards your negotiation skill.

5. Say no to the new member who wants to join; yes, you?re going to make
a lot of people cry. Run around the map until it is the beginning of
a new month.

6. Head into the pub and you?ll see you now have 2 (tribe) Wanted missions:
one aligned with last month and one aligned with the current month.
Note that if you accidentally invite a member to your clan, you?ll miss
out on the second quest generated by the previous month.
You may need to get into a random battle and start the process over
from there. Every 3 or 4 of these dispatch quests will net you a level
in negotiation."

Using the above steps will allow you to reach negiotiation skill level 30 in
about 6 hours(varies).

4. The missions will reappear in different months of the game. So just walk
around on the map and visit pubs to see if the quests reappears. Also,
to get Missions with flags icons(turf missions), when your turf is under
attack, DO NOT go to rescue it!!! Wait till its captured and the turf
missions will appear in the pubs and you can do them again for clan
skill points. If there are multiple turfs being captured, only one
mission will show in the pub. You can only do 1 turf(dispatch) mission
at a time.

5. If you find that you have too much useless mission items(adamanite,
materite, chocobo eggs..) you can discard them. The missions with those
items as rewards will reappear. DO NOT THROW AWAY OTHER MISSION ITEMS
BESIDES THE THREE LISTED ABOVE!!!!

6. Once you reached negiotiate skill 30, you will get Cinqueda. Now it's
time to get steal weapon ability!! Equip your thief with the cinqueda
and do the wanted! quest(Diaghilev Godeye, quest no. 27). Steal the
steal weapon ability from the thief of that quest, before killing him.

NOW YOU HAVE STEAL WEAPON ABILITY EARLY!!!

FFTA : Stealing Guide (GBA)

STEALING FAQs

This section is about frequently asked questions and answers about stealing.

1) I have steal helms, accessory ..etc....Why can't I steal the item from
the enemy?

Ans: It may be due to the following reasons:
A. The enemy has Maintainance support abillty EQUIPPED.
B. The item you are trying to steal are boots.
C. The enemy does NOT have the item.

2) Why can't I steal EXP or JP?

Ans: In order to steal EXP or JP, the enemy must have them(EXP/JP)! You
can't steal EXP from an enemy who has just level up(0 EXP) to bring
his level down.

3) Why can't I steal boots? I have steal accessory ability!

Ans: Boots are not considered as accessory, but armlets are! Therefore you
can steal genji armlets, but not feather shoes. To get those rare,
powerful shoes(e.g.Galmia shoes) you have to do the treasure hunts
(map placement) properly or from linking.

4) What are the weapons needed to learn to abilities steal weapon and steal
ability?

Ans: For steal weapon you need to have sword breaker and for steal ability
you need Cinqueda.

5) When/where can I get Sword breaker?

Ans: Sword breaker are missions with random rewards of TYPE 6, so you will
not get it until late in the game. Another way is to steal the sword
breaker from enemy thieves, but in order to do that you need steal
weapon ability so it's kind of pointless..

6) When/where can I get Cinqueda?

Ans: Cinqueda is a reward for reaching clan negiotiate skill lv 30. Another
way is to steal it from enemy thieves who has it.

7) How do I improve my stealing rate?

Ans: There are a number of ways to improve your stealing rate:
a. Equip Thief armlets(improve stealing rate by 20%)
b. Cast sleep or stop on enemies, steal rate would be 100% on them.
c. Steal from the enemies side or back.
d. Equip with Concentrate support ability
e. Blinding Enemies will improve your chances by around 5-10%
f. Tip from Xenast : Slowing targets down gives you more tries at
stealing the items/abilities.

8) How do I steal hidden weapons?

Ans: Just KEEP ON stealing weapons from them until you get the hidden
items. Do not cast sleep or stop on the enemy that has a hidden
item as they need to re-equip their weapons(You can steal the
hidden item only if they re-equip it with them!).

Tip: If you have 2 or more members with stealing skills, you might
want to HASTE the target, so that they will re-equip their
weapons faster.

9) I used Sensor/Mog Peek with 100% rate, why is nothing detected?

Ans: Only those enemies who can re-equip themselves will have hidden
items detected. I.E. Those enemies with Item skill as their secondary
A-ability has hidden items. Use Sensor/Mog Peek to find out what are
the hidden items. You DO NOT have to use Sensor/Mog Peek first in
order to steal hidden items.

10) Can I steal blue mage abilities from monsters, other blue mages and
morphers?

Ans: No. You cannot steal blue mage abilities from monster, other blue
mages and morphers.

11) I can't steal the ability that I want(i.e. 0%). What's wrong?

Ans: This could be due to the following reasons:
a. You already have the ability.
b. You are trying to steal Reaction or support abilites.(you can only
steal Action(A) - abilites.
b. Your race can't become that particular class, thus you can't steal
it's ability(e.g. A Human trying to steal abilities from assassin
a viera-only class).
c. You are trying to steal an ability that the enemy has not mastered.
d. You are trying to steal blue mages, monsters and morpher abilities.
e. The enemy has NO more abilities for stealing.

12) I want more of the rare items or abilities. Is there a way to STEAL
more??

Ans: Yes. You can try stealing the rare items/abilities, then FLEE from
the mission. You will fail that mission, but it will come back again.
So you can repeat stealing the rare items. But this method can only be
applied to battle missions that you can FLEE from.

13) Ritz/Shara has one of the cool items that I want! But I cannot steal it.
Why?

Ans: She is considered as your ally. You cannot perform steal on your own
team mate.

FFTA : Linking/Trading Guide (GBA)

[All About Linking]

In the original Final Fantasy Tactics for the Playstation, I remember
desperately wanting to link up two of the old Playstation models and battle a
friend, team-up and tackle some of the harder missions, or trade over items
that someone else could use. Now that I'm older and understand a lot more about
games in general, I see a few of the reasons that Final Fantasy Tactics (which
we'll just label 'FFT') didn't have any linking capabilities.

1) A higher maximum level. There's a chance for a larger gap, where someone
could be at level 99, where another person could be at 15, 20, 30, etc. If
there's a difference of at least 20 levels, then it's safe to assume the player
who's levels are higher is going to win. This only applies to a duel mode,
though.

2) An expensive, hard-to-manage setup. There would have to be two
Playstations, two TVs, two copies of FFT, a hard-to-find (even back then, I
had trouble getting one) linking cable. Even then, you'd have to have a memory
card and a few hours set aside to be able to link up with someone in your
league.

3) It's not as popular as you think. I don't want to admit it, but FFT is
looked-over and is in the shadow of Final Fantasy 7, and the others. It
took a while for the game to be released as a "Greatest Hits", and even then,
most message boards and Final Fantasy related sites only cover 7 - 10.
(10-2 recently came out, so we'll just assume 10-2 is included when I say
'7 - 10'.)

4) FFT was rushed for a US release. This ties in with #3. In the japanese
version of the game, there were parts of FFT taken out for a rushed
release. The generic character classes would say a designated line when you
pressed Select and then the Confirm button on their name. In the American
release, it's just "...". There's also rumored (I can't confirm) that
there's a text-based adventure in one of the books you receive as an item from
a job. And lastly, we lost the sound-test mode. A shame.

Don't let what I said above fool you; FFT has a very large fanbase and is one
of the most popular strategy-simulation games on the Playstation. Fans have
been screaming for Squaresoft (now SquareEnix) to come out with a sequel for a
long time. I think everyone was shocked to hear that the follow-up title would
be on the GBA, and not on the Playstation 2 (which has been dominating the
console market for a while now). One of the reasons SquareEnix decided to place
the title on the GBA, besides the fact that Square and Nintendo were in talks
again, was because of cost. Think about it; not every house in the world has
two TVs or two Playstation 2s. Not only does it save you money, but it costs
SquareEnix less to have their product on the GBA than on the Playstation 2.

Now that there's a way to link with someone else who has FFTA, let's figure out
just how to do it. You'll need a few things, first of which is an extra copy of
the game and an extra GBA. You'll also need a link cable to connect with
someone else. Once you've aquired all of those (or has a friend who has a
GBA/FFTA), then you're ready to link up.

Links where you can find examples:

http://nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=m-Game-0000-1533 - FFTA
http://nintendo.com/systemsgba - GBA
http://nintendo.com/accessoriesgba - Link Cable

Remember:
You have to keep in mind that you must have the abilitiy to link to another
clan. You can't start a new file and simply trade over your old units and
items, either. There's a fee of 5,000 from your clan funds each time you trade
an item/unit. There's no fee on doing the team-up missions, though.

[How to Link/Trade]

Alright, now let's get down to buisness. First things first - how do I link up
with someone else? You have to complete Mission 003, "The Cheetas", and then
read the rumor named "!Linking" in any of the pubs. Once you've got that under
your belt, you'll receive the command "Link" when you press Start for the Main
Menu. Simple, eh?

Once you access the Link command, the pubmaster will greet you, and ask you if
you're "here to do some linking". He'll also remind you that once you
trade/link up that your game is saved, so that you can't duplicate items that
easy. I'll get into that later. Once you finish that, you'll see four commands.
They're listed as follows, and I'll describe each below. ("Leave" should be
self-explainitory.)

[Team Up]

This is where you'll join forces with another player and tackle 6 missions
(more once you beat the game) together. Three of them are co-op, where you and
your ally will have to take turn attacking the main boss. Three of them are a
race for each player to gain the most KOs, and the other three are secret
character missions, where you'll go against Ezel, Babus, Ritz, and the like.
I'll go ahead and tell you a few things about linking up, so pay attention. You
can't capture monsters, and you can't steal from the other player. You can
steal from the secret characters you go against, though, and this is the only
way to obtain a certain weapon. I'll leave that to you to figure out what it is.

There's also a reward for either the person who gets the most KOs in
Counter-Op, or both people in Co-Op. It's the one item of that type that can be
powered up to a point. The Sequence is a Knightsword, the Sapere Aude is a Rod,
and the Acacia Hat is a Hat.

Co-Op: Work together with the other player
Counter-Op: Work against the other player for more KOs

[Trade Items]

This is where you'll be spending most of your time, if you're like myself. I'm
a perfectionist, and ever since having a 3,000 hour file in FFT, I've gone out
of my way to make sure I get every item in the game. Since I had an old file
before I started my new one (for setting up the map), I traded a lot of the
one-time-only items (Masamune 100, Ninja Tabi, Magic Robe) onto my new one.
Once you select this option, the pubmaster will tell you he's looking for
someone to trade with. When he finds another clan, he'll announce their name,
and then you'll be given three options from here.

Equipped: Any items you can equip onto a character can be traded here. You're
taken to the same screen you see when you go to a shop, and you pick an item to
trade.

Mission Item: To complete some of the reserve missions, you'll get your hands
on certain items at random. An example would be "My Mission", in which you'll
need either a Gold Vessel and an Eldagusto or a Vermillion and an Eldagusto. If
you get a Gold Vessel, then you'll need a Vermillion, and vise versa. You'd use
this command to trade mission items.

Law Cards: The name says it all. You trade Law Cards through here.

You select one of these options, then select an item, and wait for the other
player to do the same. Once you both select something and pay the 5,000 gil,
your game is saved and the pubmaster tells you what you receive. It's that easy!

[Trade Units]

There's really nothing to explain here. You select one of the generic units
you've got, and then he/she's traded over. The character who the other player
sends you goes in the slot your character was in, and takes that number. Some
things to note: You can't trade any of the story characters, (Ritz, Shara,
etc.), but you can trade some of the generic secret characters (Eldena, Lini,
etc). Any equipped items the character had on will be put back into your
inventory - I'm sure this is done so players can't avoid the 5,000 gil fee and
trade over 5 items for the price of one. I don't see the point in restricting
connectivity, but I guess Nintendo does..

[Nono's Shop]

When you reach a certain point in the game, you'll meet Nono, Montblanc's
little brother. When you complete the mission he asks you to, you'll go through
a cut-scene where he explains that he's going to turn his busted airship into a
Merchant Ship to help pay for the repairs. Now, everytime you link with someone
else, Nono will re-stock a list of 5 randomly selected items, with sometimes
confusing names. Let me break it down into an example: When you link (you don't
have to trade anything; just cancel out when it asks you to select "Equipped",
"Mission Item", "Law Cards"), Nono randomly has 5 items added to his shop.
These items have names like "Sharp Blade" and "Rusty Helm" so you'll never know
what you're getting until you get it. The beauty in this is that the item is
rare - that's also it's greatest flaw. Sometimes you'll end up paying 3,000 gil
for a potion, but you'll also end up paying 5,000 gil for a Genji Helmet. It's
totally random. Below is a list of the item's names, so you know what you're
getting.

Notice: Clothing and Armor are called the same thing by Nono, so I just left
those out.

Remember: Anything that you can only get one of, I.E. the Masamune 100,
Excalibur2, Ninja Tabi, you can't get from Nono's shop. You have to trade with
another file to get more of those.

[Duplication Trick]

If you haven't figured it out already, there's a way to duplicate any item you
want. It requires the use of both save files, and the ability to link with
someone. Just save on both save slots, then trade the item you want duplicated
to the other person. Load the opposite file (the one with the item you traded
over), and then have your friend trade you back the same item. You can do this
an infinite amount of times, assuming you have the funds for it.

(Easter Egg: The zombies on the mission have the same name as the bullies from
school in the real world :P)
CLASS: Fencer. Has a Viera's jobset (even though she's human).

say something about you being a mediator for negotiations between the palace
and the resistance. Then he will post up a mission in the pub, called
"Reconciliation" (NOTE! If you haven't finished the first mission he gives you,
you'll have to do that one first before you get "Reconcilation"). Complete it,
and you should get Ezel.

completion of the game) then enter any town. A small cutscene will play, with
Babus asking you to come along with him to Ambervale. Go straight to the pub,
and select mission "With Babus".
Once you've finished that mission, there'll be a scene where Marche asks Babus
to be his friend. Halfway through the scene, Babus will offer to join. Voila!

There was some inaccuracy here, on my part.

The following CORRECT information was given by Allester Elishia Darkflame:

===========================================
I made two save files just before getting the mission. In once case I
left the "With Babus" mission in the Pub. I then walked around for 3
Ivalice Years(Going through all 5 months completely) and I checked the
pub every month, yes it did Vanish, but it came back every Nu Mou
Month(MadMoon).

In the second save file I did the same thing, and again the mission
reappeared every time. In this I tried it with all the other missions
for the "Secret Characters" and found that they too dissapear and
REappear every certain month(5Secret Character's, 5 Months, notice
the trend yet? =p).

3.5 - |CID|
Clear each and every one of the 300 missions available in FFTA.

Here are further detailed instructions, provided by Tedain:

===========================================
I finally got Judgemaster Cid. It was not hard to get
him. All you actually needed to do was go to Bervenia
Castle and a cut-scene SHOULD appear with Cid in his
office approached by a ninja. Next, you have to go to
town and look up new missions. When you do the new
mission, Cid should appear and help you out. After the
battle, he asks to join your clan. After he joins you,
a string of quests appear (1 by 1) at the pubs which
are doable, but do not show up as one of the 300
missions.
===========================================
Thank you Tedain :)

- JP Gift - Give own JP to a deserving friend.
- Yellow Clip - Nullifies a yellow card from record. (8 MP)

========================
-SEMI SECRET CHARACTERS-
========================
These have normal, generic sprites (graphics). They usually have some very nice
abilities pre-mastered, and they'll join your clan a few levels above average.

***NOTE***
Note that even if you have completed what is required to get the character,
whether or not the character offers to join your clan is compltety random.
Example: It took me 20+ tries to get Eldena, while I got Lini on the first try.
It *might* help (I say this very tentatively, though) if you bring along the
"Ally Finder" or "Ally Finder 2" item. This is not confirmed yet, though.
***NOTE***

======
-TIPS-
======
It seems many people have trouble getting the Seecret and Semi-secret
characters. Well, this is to help you:

1. With the secret characters, sometimes players seem to have trouble getting
them to offer to join your party. There is but one reason for this: NO ROOM IN
YOUR PARTY. Their offering to join your clan IS NOT a random event. It should
happen. (Maximum party members: 24)

2. Let's use Eldena as an example for this one. Many, many players try once,
with Elda's Cup set as the mission item, and Eldena doesn't turn up. This is
because, with the semi-secret characters, whether they offer to join your clan
or not IS RANDOM! Chance and probability, capeesh? :) I had to try 20 times to
get Eldena. So keep trying!

3. Many people suggest you save before you do a mission to try to get one of
the semi-secret characters, and reset and try again if you don't get him/her.
I agree with the saving part, but you DO NOT have to reset. If you bring an
item on a mission where it is not required, IT STAYS in you inventory. So you
can keep going, try a DIFFERENT mission, and bring the item along again. That
way you don't hinder your progress whilst trying to get the characters.

4. With semi-secret characters: DO NOT DO THE MISSION WHERE THE MISSION ITEM
IS REQUIRED!! You don't have to! If you do, you'll lose the item! So bring it
along on ANY OTHER mission, so you can keep trying. You cannot get another
Elda's cup, Wyrmstone, Snake Shield or The Hero Gaol.

5. Some people still haven't gotten this figured out. Well, here's how you
bring items along on missions:
a - Go to the pub, and select a mission.
b - Now you should be at the mission info. page. E.g. Uldaon Bog: Won't someone
help me build a bridge over Uladon Bog? It would really speed up travel.
Iluluna, Young girl.
c - Press a once. If this is a dispatch, you should now be at where you choose
who to send. If it's battle, or clan mission, then go straight to step e.
d - Press a once.
e - Now you're at the screen that says "Choose what to bring on [Uladon Bog]"
f - Press up once, and press a. Then select the item. Voila!

6. It is *possible* that if you send a character on a dispatch mission with two
of the items that are required, you will have a higher chance of getting one or
another of the characters. i.e. Send a character off with Elda's Cup and The
Hero Gaol, and you'll have a higher chance of getting EITHER Eldena or Lini.
This is unconfirmed, however.

===============
-MISSION ITEMS-
===============
6.1 - |ELDA'S CUP|
Finish Mission 123 - HUNGRY GHOST. It appears after story mission "antilaws"
and you need a "Dragon Bone" to complete.

6.2 - |THE HERO GAOL|
Finish Mission 062 - Oasis Frogs. It appears after story mission "Twisted Flow"

6.3 - |SNAKE SHIELD|
Finish Mission 165 - Hundred-Eye. It appears after the Exodus battle.

6.4 - |WYRMSTONE|
Finish Mission 031 - Ruby-Red mission. It appears after the "Wyrms Awaken"
mission, which in turn appears after "Desert Patrol".

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA)

STORY
(Interpretation of Japanese story)

FINAL FANTASY AND THE CALLING OF THE ANCIENT TOME

Before Noah's Ark there was a world swords and sorcery prospered, this was
the era of the Ancient Keltia... a wondrous magical civilization that was
lost with the great flood. However, a key to the knowledge of that era
exists. Sealed with darkness by the hand of that era's dictator into ancient
documents, the Grand Grimoire.

Although it is unknown how many volumes exist presently, those who once
possessed the book said that it has the power to drastically change the
world. Those seeking power have searched the world for it, despite the fact
that no one knows for sure it even truly exists. Unattainable, this
magical book became to be known as the... Final Fantasy.

"I want this world to change for good. I want to see Final Fantasy, the
world of swords and magic"

Once crowded with merchants, the small country town of Ivalice has since
become rustic. Amongst a row of dilapidated buildings is a second hand
bookseller. Within it, lost in time, a book rests. Untouched by hands for
many years, in the book firmly shut are strange unreadable characters which
record some unknown history.

One day, accidentally, a lonely boy found that book. And with his thoughts
turned the normal countryside town of St. Ivalice into the world of
"Ivalice", a world of law and chaos....

3) GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (hear by known as FFT-A) is the third product
of Square's engulfment of Quest. It's a Strategy RPG (known as a Simulation
RPG in Japan) based on the "world" of Final Fantasy. If you have played the
original Final Fantasy Tactics, or any of the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre
series, or even Advance Wars; this game should be familiar territory.
Battles are turn-based and take place on what essentially is a grid. Each
time it becomes a unit's turn, they will get a chance to move and execute an
action. Each unit has 8 stats which determine different attributes:

?@?@?@?¢?Ç?¤ Move - Amount of panels that unit can move each turn.
?@?@?W?????v Jump - Maximum height that unit can scale.
?@?@?@?©?¢?Ð Evade - The % of attacks that unit can possibly dodge.
???í?±?¤?°?« Weapon Attack - How strong that unit's physical attack will be.
?@?@?Ú?¤?¬?å Defence - How well that unit can defend a physical attack.
???@?Ì?Â?æ?³ Magical Power - The strength of any magic cast by that unit.
?@?@?Ú?¤?¬?å Magic Defence - How well that unit can resist a magical attack.
?@?@?X?s?[?h Speed - Determines the order and frequency of AT.

Unlike FFT, there is no "casting" time for spells and abilities, not even for
Jump (which is highly unorthodox by Final Fantasy standards). Also there is
no Bahamut summon... a break of a tradition set since Final Fantasy III.

FFT-A is filled with many systems; some are old, some are revised, and some
are brand spanking new. Because of their complexity, I might as well go over
them one at a time for you:

Job System
************
FFT-A uses the Job System which was born from Final Fantasy III, built upon
in Final Fantasy V, and almost perfected in Final Fantasy Tactics. It's also
going to be used in Final Fantasy X-2 under the guise of "Dress Ups"... not
that anyone noticed with the new artwork of Rikku emerging ^_^. Anyway, FFT-A
uses a revised Job System, it defers from FFT's system like so:

* No more Job Points, JP is now Judge Points.
* The inclusion of Tribes and the abolishment of Sexes and Zodiac signs.
* The inclusion of an AP (Ability Points) system, ala Final Fantasy IX.
* A whole new collection of Jobs and abilities.
* New Jobs are learned by mastering abilities, not by Job Levels.

Ability System
****************
The ability system is almost exactly like Final Fantasy IX's. Abilities are
embedded in equipment; once you equip items (weapons, armour, etc.) on a
unit you will be able to use the abilities associated with that equipment.
As soon as you unequip those items, the unit will no longer be able to use
those abilities. However, you can permanently learn abilities by mastering
them. To "master" an ability, you must equip the item the ability is embedded
in and gain enough AP (Ability Points) to learn it. Be aware that you still
have to select Secondary, Reaction and Support Abilities to use them, and
that Movement Abilities have been replaced by Combo Abilities. Movement
abilities are now "status effects" found in special shoes/boots.

Judgement System
******************
The world of Ivalice is ruled by Law and Order. All battles are adjudicated
by "Judges" who are there to enforce the constantly changing "World Laws".
The current "World Laws" can be viewed by; pressing L on the World Map
screen, pressing Select during Battle formation, and by selecting the
"World Law" option from the System Menu during a battle. If a unit breaks a
law in combat, the Judge will give that unit a Yellow "Caution" Card, which
will mean that unit will be penalised at the end of battle. Also, if that
unit continues to break the law or breaks the law to defeat a unit, the Judge
might give that unit a Red "Arrest" Card; which will mean that unit will be
sent to a nearby Prison. You must pay a lot of Gil to either "Bail" the
jailed unit out of Prison, or to "Acquit" them to remove any cards. Judges
also award JP (Judge Points) to units that legally defeat their enemies. With
JP you can use strong Combo attacks, and if you gain the maximum amount (10)
you can summon the powerful "Divine Beasts". Judges will also move
"unconscious" units out of the way to keep the battle flowing. Later in the
game it will be possible for you to add and remove laws by using "Law Cards".

Clan System
*************
Ivalice is filled with many mercenary groups called "Clans". Clan Members
work together to complete "Quests" for payment in Gil and treasure. In order
to participate in a Quest you must first buy its information from a Pub.
There are many types of quests, they are:

* Story Battle Quest (Sword Icon)
Always the first on the list and usually more expensive than the
others, these quests progress the story and will generally unlock a
new area on the World Map.
* Battle Quest (Sword Icon)
The "standard" quest, these involve fighting a battle in which your
opponents are generally monsters.
* Non-Battle Quest (Paper Icon)
Much like the "Propositions" of the original FFT, these involve sending
a unit off alone to complete a quest and then return with the reward.
Although, you don't have to go back to collect them in this game.
* Territory Quest (Flag Icon)
These Quests involve sending off a unit to set up a base in another area.
Usually you must defeat a specific amount of units in battles before the
unit will return and the area is captured. Once you have established an
area as your territory, other clans will constantly try to capture it, so
make sure you stop them!
* Encounter Quest (Tribe Icon)
Uncommon quest, these involve an encounter with a rival Clan in which you
will be given a choice on how you are to act.

Your Clan also has 8 Skill Levels which will develop as you complete
more and more quest. These affect your success at Non-Battle and Territory
Quests, with higher levels you will receive rare items, and a lot of Quests
require a certain Skill Level to actually even attempt them, the stats are
set out like so:

?@?@?í?¬ - Combat Skill (Sword)
?@?@?b?è - Metallurgy Skill (Hammer)
?@?@?Ó?è - Analysis Skill (Magnifying Glass)
?@?@?ð? - Negotiation Skill (Hand-shake)
?@?@???@ - Magic Skill (Lightning Bolt)
?@?@?×?H - Labour Skill (Pliers)
?@?@?Ì?æ - Collection Skill (Bug Net)
?@?@?Ç?Õ - Pursuit Skill (Foot Prints)

Region Create System
**********************
Unlike the original Final Fantasy Tactics for the Sony Playstation, the land
of Ivalice in FFT-A is completely malleable thanks to a "Region Create"
system. This system is somewhat from the same vein as Legend of Mana's
infamous "Artifact Placement" system. But thankfully; FFT-A's "Region Create"
system is far simpler, and only really effects the outcome of "Treasure
Hunts" which will spring up often.
